What to avoid?

Sugar, white flour products and highly processed foods in a nutshell are best to avoid if you are trying to get your hair, scalp and skin back in shape. The trend to look for pills and potions, seeking the effect of the magic bullet generally will not work and more particularly if you continue to partake of these hollow foods.

What to eat?

Wholesome and colourful foods is the key; ingesting at least 30 different foods a day. I can hear you say ’30 different foods, impossible’. Well no it is not and if you take a simple salad you can have at least 10. Really it is not difficult, so have a go. Good food, blending fresh fruit and vegetables and a nice balance of protein will help to enrich your body and this will be reflected in your hair.

Also do not overlook the healing benefits of common water as a hydrated body can heal while a dehydrated body causes disaster. Sip at least 30mls of water per 1kg of body weight daily up to a maximum of 3L a day.

What could you start to grow to help create your very own pharmacy?

  • Carrots
  • Beetroot
  • Lettuce
  • All leafy greens

These are very healing and easy to grow, not taking up too much space.

What to drink?

  • Great juice or smoothie combination is:
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 apple (include peel)
  • ½ cup of baby spinach
  • ¼ avocado seed (yes seed as it is very powerful as a healing agent)
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (extra virgin cold pressed)
  • If doing a smoothie add 2 tablespoons of soaked oats

Although there are literally hundreds of combinations this one offers great all round support to the hair, scalp and skin.

So instead of focusing on the outside of the body support the internal components and feel the difference.
